Sad Day
We found out this morning that the Court Date in Ethiopia was postponed till June 9. Our morning was tough, processing this. But we are thankful for the peace we feel, and continue pray!

The Roller Coaster of International Adoption
We may not have our Court Date tomorrow, it is a long story, but a paper didn't come from the orphanage in the countryside to be processed by the government in time to be in the packet for court tomorrow. So best case scenerio, the judge will proceed & just have everything pending this paper that should be there soon. Or the whole date will just be rescheduled till hopefully next week (hopefully not later than that). You can still pray that the Ethiopian judge will process whatever is possible tomorrow!!!
Oh, the roller coaster ride, we have been on the "ride" before with Zach's adoption and this time I was determined not to get on again. Well, I've now concluded that a "Mommy heart" doesn't allow the choice, so back "up & down" we go. But desperately this time, I am trying to turn this ride into one of prayer...so that is all we can do, may God be the Lord of all things, especially in the tomorrow!

Court Date--Tuesday!
We are so happy to post that we have our Court Date, this Tuesday...May 19! Yes, it is sooner than we anticipated & then there has been some time confirming that this is actually the day...and yes, it is! There are a million questions, what is a court date? in very basic terms this is a time when the Ethiopian government reviews the paperwork & hopefully will say they are A-OK & then the final steps for the final paperwork & then we travel (approx. 5+ weeks later) Right now, 50% of the cases "pass" court, so we are asking for you to pray that judge will look favorably & "pass"! We feel so humbled by how things have been moving in the past few weeks & we thank the Lord & everyone that has prayed on our behalf! The actual time of "court" will probably be during our Monday night, Tuesday early morning since they are 7 hours ahead of us in Ethiopia...so we hope to find out "good" news by later on Tuesday. Check back, we'll keep you posted! Much love & so much appreciation for your prayers!!!!
Mother's Day celebration at an Ethiopian restaurant...we loved it! Zach ate the most we have ever seen him eat...we think it may have been the fun of getting to use his fingers instead of silverware...the food was very delicious too!
Niagara Falls...an amazing, awesome experience!!!
We have prayed & prayed & we are thankful that we had a little getaway planned to Niagara Falls the past few days with the boys...it was so nice to pass time, but it is a crazy feeling thinking every little bit what it would be like to have Ellyana with us...we just can't wait!

The boys' bunk bed was delivered today....getting ready to share a room together.
We call it "praying like crazy", its what we are doing around here! Praying that we could possibly bring Ellyana home this summer. The next few weeks are important to get Ethiopian paperwork through so the date can be scheduled before the court closes for rainy season!

It is a precious name the Lord gave us for this precious girl!

It is a precious name the Lord gave us for this precious girl!
The song below has touched our heart so many times as we have thought about this name!
It’s also neat that a part of the name is similar to Grandma Lynell and Great-Grandma Eleanor!
Chernet (pronounced Shure-nay) is the name given by her Ethiopian mother & is special as we pass on a part of Cherise’s & Grandma Cheryl’s names!
Though we are can hardly contain ourselves from posting her photos, the Ethiopian government considers this not lawful, so picture in your mind a very beautiful, dark, healthy looking, with a huge grin, 4 month old “princess” of our family! We are so happy to welcome her (still probably not until toward the end of this year), but we can hardly wait! Thank you for your love, support, and your prayers as she receives care in a Christian orphanage in one of the poorest regions of Ethiopia!

F.A.Q.'s
Hello to each of you!
We have received so many precious e-mails from you…thank you! I plan to put them together in a book for our baby girl…may she always know what wonderful people God has placed in her life!
I was thinking about doing a “F.A.Q.” (Frequently Asked Questions), here it goes…
*What agency are you using? We used Loving Shepherd Ministries (loving-shepherd.com) as we began this journey again. They are a wonderful source of “big picture” information. It helped funnel us to where we are today.
Our actual adoption agency is “Christian World Adoption”, they do quite a few Ethiopian adoptions.
*When do you expect to get her? I think we mentioned in the previous e-mail that we are looking at November/December. It’s a third world country & things don’t move fast. The courts shut-down for August & September (rainy season, because roads are too flooded to get through) after that the courts are backed-up, thus we are hoping to get her by the end of the year. Of course, we are praying & hoping that it would go sooner, but this is the more realistic guess.
*How do you know you will get a girl? We have been on the waiting list for a healthy, baby girl (probably under the age of 1).
*How did you know you wanted to adopt again? We had it on our heart since we adopted Zach, we let the Lord lead the place & timing…He was faithful & clear in His direction.
*Why is “the wait” so hard? Its not really for Brian, rock -solid faith that God will bring her to us exactly when He wants (period). For me, it’s a “Mommy” thing…ready to have our little one close & ready to love on her (today ;)
*How are the boys taking it? Pretty good, girls still have “cooties” in their minds. But considering they might get bunk beds when they share a room, that’s about all it took to have them ready to go. She will be a very well-protected little girl, I’m sure!
I think that covers the “bulk” of FAQ’s, thanks for joining in prayer with us for the journey. It has been a humbling and very exciting week for us to share the news! God’s blessings to each of you, we love you!
